Terms & Conditions

I have to undergo frequent supervision as a member of the BPS in order to ensure that my work remains ethical, safe, and efficient. During these sessions, I may discuss areas of our work, but no identifiable details will be discussed, including names or ages. My supervisor is a member of APPCH, and as such, they are bound by the same rules of confidentiality as myself. As a member of the BPS, I am bound by their ethical framework to protect your confidentiality, meaning that all that we discuss will remain confidential with the exception of the following circumstances:

I reserve the right to break confidentiality if I feel that you have become a danger to yourself or to others, which I will first attempt to discuss with yourself or my supervisor in the first instance, but this may not always be a possibility.

I am also not bound by confidentiality if, with clear judgement, I feel that I could assist in the detection or prevention of a serious crime, which includes safeguarding issues relating to children or vulnerable adults, substantial financial crimes, or acts of terrorism.

As a member of the BPS, it is necessary for me to keep accurate notes that are appropriate to our discussions. Session notes are securely stored on a laptop only operated by myself, which is password protected. Any paper documents are locked in a private cabinet, to which only I have access.
